Very traditional nose with caramel, vanilla, wheat, and a hint of candy corn.
The sweetness from the nose doesn’t carry over entirely to the palate. initial notes of caramel, vanilla, black pepper, oak, cinnamon, and rye spice fade into soapy cereal grain.
Very long and very satisfying finish
I strongly prefer higher proof bourbons. This one is great. Price is on par with other barrel proof/cask strength bourbons (Baker's, Jack Daniels Barrel Proof, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof etc). I would recommend any of them but Ezra would be at the top.
